Wandlitz and the surrounding areas

Wandlitz has been a popular destination – especially for the population of Berlin – since the 1920s. It was also one of the most popular spas. In modern history Wandlitz is known throughout Germany as a synonym for the alienation of the politicians in the workers' and peasants' state from the general population. The infamous Waldsiedlung housed the leading apparatchicks of the GDR from the 1960s onward. Today, with the surrounding forests and lakes, Wandlitz is the "pearl" of Barnim. Breathe deep while enjoying the surrounding hills, beech forests, and lakes. Our hotel is located on the village square and is architecturally set off by the small neighbouring farmhouses. The building has been completely renovated and offers quiet elegance inside. Our restaurant also serves lunch, coffee, and dinner in the 20 000 sqm park surrounding the hotel. Occasionally a small stage is set up for concerts and other events. The adjacent lake makes the setting complete. If you have time to go further afield, we suggest:

Lakes Liepnitzsee and Hellsee

You can hike (or cycle) to or around the lakes Liepnitzsee and Hellsee.
